Narcissus cantabricus is a white flowered hoop petticoat daffodil from North Africa and Southern Spain. Like many dwarf daffodils Narcissus Cantabricus is an excellent plant for the alpine house or conservatory.
A white flowered hoop petticoat daffodil with errect or spreading leaves. The bulb tunic is extremely dark, appearing almost black.
Southern Spain, Morocco, Algeria and the Balearic Islands. Narcissus cantabricus tend to favour areas which are very wet in winter, but dry out in summer.
Narcissus cantabricus is easily propagated by seed which is produced freely, or by natural division of the bulbs.
Best grown in pans in the alpine house due to its early flowering. Undemanding in cultivation but needs a more pronounced ripening than the other hoop petticoat daffodils.
