A bit of a puzzle, this one. From the start the plants were extremely chlorotic, and consequently vey weak. Gaining a little strength each time they were potted up, they finally produced a few well flavoured chillies late in the season. Whether the seed was defective, or whether the plants need very specific growing conditions is not clear, but another attempt will be made next year.
Not to be confused with the Habanero varieties of Capsicum chinense which are notoriously fiery.
